What to remember before choosing URL Profiler

URL Profiler is a tool for batch SEO analysis, not a form builder. It brings together information about URLs to prepare an audit. Two questions determine whether it is worth buying: which data you actually lack and which sources are still usable with your access. A larger export is useful only if it supports a decision.

the desktop license, devices and API accesses required for the data sought.

What URL Profiler offers on a daily basis

01
URL and link checks

The site describes controls of HTTP status, redirections and links. The result is used to identify URLs that require investigation. A redirect is not automatically an error: its interest depends on the destination page and the route expected. The analysis must therefore link the technical signal to the useful action.

02
Data from external services

The documentation indicates that some data comes from free or paid API and that these accesses have their own limitations. The software license therefore does not guarantee access to each column. This dependency is part of the comparison: access cost, connector availability and metric interpretation.

03
Software installed on a computer

The offers page presents licenses Windows and Mac. URL Profiler should therefore be compared as desktop software, not as a service only accessible in a browser. The capacity of a lot also depends on the execution environment; a high commercial limit is not a flow measurement on your machine.

04
Export and interpretation of results

The proposed practice is to gather information for analysis in a spreadsheet. Keep the URL, source of each metric and date of the statement in your work method. An absent field may correspond to an access API, an error or an unavailable data: it should not be converted automatically to an unfavourable note for the page being studied.

When this option makes sense

Who it is for: referencers who want to review a set of URLs and exploit the results in their own analysis.

When to look at another approach: For a continuously monitored position dashboard, a SEO suite can meet another need. It should not be presented as strictly equivalent to a batch analyser.

Historical documentation is itself a point of vigilance

The public page still lists older services and systems, including Alexa and historical Windows versions; the API limits page contains references to 2017. This does not prove that the entire product is unusable, but it prevents treating every listed connector as currently verified. For a paid audit, first define the three data points essential to the deliverable, then verify their collection with the current version and your own authorised access. This targeted check distinguishes the software, its dependencies and the interpretation work still required from the SEO practitioner.

Preparing your decision

Three checks to see if URL Profiler suits you

Audit a small set of known URLs, distinguish HTTP responses from external metrics and prepare a list of actions from export.

  1. Choose a lot you can control

Take pages whose role you know, with some URLs redirected or deleted to a site you manage. Define the desired decision before the columns to be recovered. Do not add data sources only because they are proposed: each metric should answer an audit question.

  2. Check each dependency separately

Start with a small batch and add the necessary external sources. Distinguish a page response, a connection error and a data provider limit. The documentary pages contain historical references; check the operation of the necessary connectors before retaining a budget or promising a result to a client.

  3. Transforming export into decisions

Open the obtained file, check the columns on a few URLs and write the actions to undertake. Keep missing data as such. A documented decision on ten representative pages is more useful than a large table whose deviations or date of action are not explained.
