Semrush or Mangools: targeted search or wider suite?
Examine Mangools if your tasks focus on keywords, competing results and limited position tracking. Review Semrush if you are also operating audits and several SEO reports. Do not choose from the largest quota displayed: searches, tracking positions, devices and API access correspond to different uses.

Differences that change choice
| Task | Mangools | Semrush |
|---|---|---|
| Search for topics | KWFinder: limited research and results according to plan. | Reports and research capabilities of the selected toolkit. |
| Mobile and computer | SERPWatcher counts both followed separately. | Each tracking target consumes units; multitargeting according to the plan. |
| Automation | The API KWFinder and SERPChecker have separate offers from regular subscriptions. | Check API access and the exact package limits. |
From an editorial decision
Take ten topics related to an actual offering. Look at the intent visible in the search results: information, comparison or purchase. High search volume does not make a topic relevant if your business cannot meet the demand. Note why each topic does or does not merit a page.
Mangools provides difficulty estimates. This score is not a guaranteed probability of ranking. Semrush also produces metrics that depend on its data and methods. Different values between tools do not diverge by automatically choosing the most favorable.
Calculate the cost of the operations required
Separate ad hoc searches from daily monitoring. A team that examines many topics and then follows only a few dozen does not have the same profile as an agency that produces reports for several sites. Add the number of users and any exports or access API.
Semrush distinguishes its toolkits and their limits; do not assume that an SEO subscription includes every marketing feature. For Mangools, record each tool’s usage counters and reset frequency. A generous allowance in one module does not make up for an insufficient quota in another.
Check utility after publication
Follow a few pages with their modification dates and search Console data available. Keep the queries, region and device used for tracking. An isolated position evolution is not enough to attribute a result to the software.
Choose Mangools if useful tasks are within its scope and quotas. Choose Semrush if additional audits and analyses are used to make concrete decisions. Reduce the perimeter if no one has time to read reports: an unused tool does not create progress SEO.
Calculate the cost of twenty searches without confusing the usage counters
Consider this example: an SME wants to examine twenty topics, then track thirty search terms on desktop and mobile. The initial twenty searches use a research quota; tracking covers sixty term-and-device pairs if the two device types are configured separately. Increasing one quota does not automatically free up the other.
The Mangools FAQ confirms that mobile and desktop tracking are counted separately. It also states that the KWFinder and SERPChecker APIs have their own plans. The Semrush documentation distinguishes between the keyword quota and access to the tracking of several targets. So confirm the desired configuration, not just the number displayed.
An exercise to avoid an unusable keyword list
- Choose five services sold and note two customer questions for each.
- Examine results: Does the reader want a definition, a provider, a price or a comparison? To remove issues that the company cannot respond to.
- Assign each selected topic to an existing page or specific content requirement. Avoid multiple interchangeable pages for the same answer.
- Verify that the tool allows to obtain the useful report without exceeding the searches and exports of the tested offer.
If no one can turn this list into useful pages, the blocking is editorial before being software. Our SEO guide for SMEs details this diagnosis. No advantage of base accuracy was measured in this comparison.
