Webflow or Squarespace: how many sites and people to manage?
For a showcase site maintained by a small team, compare the time required for updates and accesses included in Squarespace. For multiple sites or a more customized design in Webflow, separate the budget of each Site plan from that of Workspace. The number of people who publish can change the necessary package, even without increasing the number of pages.

Differences that change choice
| Organization | Webflow | Squarespace |
|---|---|---|
| Several sites | A Site map per site published on a custom domain. | Identify the package of each site and the functions used. |
| Teamwork | Workspace includes collaboration; it does not replace Site plans. | Basic foresees two contributors; Core expects an unlimited number. |
| Portability | Code export excludes certain hosted functions. | Content export does not re-establish the entire site elsewhere. |
Describe three ordinary changes
Ask a future publisher to replace an image, publish a news and change an offer. It is these repeated actions that reveal the need for training. A spectacular but difficult-to-correct site depends on its creator.
In Webflow, distinguish between workspaces and site map. The collaborative or export capabilities of a Workspace do not necessarily replace the subscription that publishes the site. For Squarespace, identify the contract generation: the names Basic, Core, Plus and Advanced coexist in the documentation with old offers.
Check commercial functions separately
Sales of physical products, download and training do not necessarily follow the same pricing. Squarespace distinguishes among other things the fees applicable to digital products according to the offer, to which may be added those of the payment. Compare the exact scenario that generates your sales.
For Webflow, check the limits of the chosen Plan Site and the e-commerce capabilities if they are necessary. Do not choose a CMS on a static page demonstration when the need includes catalog, paid access or structured data.
The possibility of exporting is not a complete migration
Webflow code export does not automatically transport the operation of CMS collections, shop or all hosted functions. Prepare a list of data and services to be reconstructed. At Squarespace, also test what the export of the chosen content type keeps.
Choose Webflow if the design control will actually be operated and maintained. Choose Squarespace if the proposed frame covers the required pages and sales with less configuration. In both cases, document the domain, access, source content and cost of recovery by another provider.
Two brands and three stakeholders: preparing the quote without double counting
Consider this example: a business runs two brand websites and works with a writer, her manager and an external designer. Before comparing prices, it must establish who creates pages, who edits the text and who authorises publication. Project access alone does not define these permissions.
The Webflow documentation distinguishes the site subscription, needed for its custom domain, from the workspace subscription. A paid Workspace therefore does not automatically publish both sites on their own domains. The Squarespace guide advertises two contributors for Basic and unlimited contributors for Core: needing three people to access the same site already changes which plans to consider.
- On a draft, ask the editor to modify a client reference without touching the layout.
- Reread the mobile version by the manager, then identify the account that can publish.
- Specify accesses and subscriptions retained when the designer leaves the project.
If the modifications remain simple and this circuit works, paying for unused design freedom brings little. If both brands require different structures, estimate also design and maintenance. This documentary comparison does not measure the actual learning time or the quality of a migration.
