Is Cloudways worth considering?
Yes if you recognize yourself here: teams wanting cloud without running the entire server. Managed cloud hosting. Less suitable for: beginners wanting an ultra-simple and fixed offer. In this case, look at an alternative of the same category.

What to remember before choosing Cloudways
Cloudways compares on a set of resources and services. The displayed server does not always represent the full invoice: backups, email, DNS or copied resources can be added. The offer is best suited to a team that can name these components and track those that remain active.

Original Test Title: Cloudways review
What Cloudways offers on a daily basis
The billing guide distinguishes products and explains Flexible's hourly calculation, consolidated in a monthly invoice. Dimension the server and duration of use. A monthly estimate is a projection of resources, not a promise that any additional use is understood.
Support indicates billing for off-site storage of copies. Frequency and conservation influence volume. Compare the need for restoration with this budget, instead of reducing retention without measuring the consequences.
The guide cites e-mail, DNS, bandwidth and cloned servers among the elements that can change the total. Make a list of active services with their owner. An option installed for a test must be reviewed when the test is completed.
The aid explains how to stop billing and recommends a full backup before the necessary deletions. The procedure must be planned, as removing a resource can delete its content. A migration is only completed when the new copy is checked and the old perimeter is properly closed.
When this option makes sense
Who it is for: teams able to track their consumption and hosting components.
When to look at another approach: An unvisited site does not imply a zero bill: provisioned resources and active services follow their billing rules. Do not leave an active test copy without follow-up.
Cloudways: Prepare a change without losing recent data
A preparation copy is used to verify a theme or extension. It does not guarantee that a return to production will preserve the orders and forms received in the meantime. The choice of Cloudways must therefore include a switcher, a backup and a precise list of items to be transferred.
What the vendor documents
Documentation consulted on
The Staging Guide describes a file and/or database transfer. It allows you to select files or tables, distinguishes Push and Pull operations and recommends a backup of the site in production before a Push.
Cloudways: creation and management of Staging ↗Flexible billing is based on the resources used on time, with a monthly invoice. The guide distinguishes between servers and several services or supplements: the amount of a server does not in itself describe the entire area charged.

| Your situation | Key point to check | Decision proposed by Logicelio |
|---|---|---|
| Edit the theme of a showcase site | List modified files, forms, redirects and cache behavior on copy. | Plan a transfer limited to what has changed; validate the actual form after the switch. |
| Change a store that receives orders | Identify affected tables and data from the creation of the copy. | Pause the full migration until the handling of recent orders and the rollback procedure are defined. |
| Keep multiple environments | Enter destination server, additional resources, backups and owner of each copy. | Distinguish an application on the same server from an additional server before projecting the invoice. |
A changeover file to be given to the claimant
Write the planned operations in their order: backup, selected transfer, purging the cache, checking pages and forms, and then deciding whether to maintain or reverse. For a store, add a check of orders placed during preparation. The list must name the data to be preserved; the vague statement "put the copy online" is not enough to specify an intervention.
On a demo copy, prepare an easily recognisable change and a data item created only after the initial copy. Ask the provider to explain what would be retained or overwritten for the chosen transfer scope. This proposed exercise demonstrates no measured uptime. A copy on the same server also shares its resources: do not infer hardware isolation or an unchanged bill simply because staging exists.
Cloudways is a consistent track when someone can exploit resources and prepare changes. If no one knows how to check a restoration or delimit a base transfer, an attractive server rate does not pay for this lack. Ask for a managed operating contour or compare a solution that is supported by these interventions.
A claimant experimenting with multiple copies
Flexibility can be useful if each copy has a responsible person and an end date. Without this inventory, the cost of forgotten resources can exceed the expected economy. Compare Cloudways on your operating capacity as well as on the server rate.

Three checks to see if Cloudways suits you
Establish the full budget of a site and test copy with their backups.
- Inventorying resources
Note product Cloudways, server, region, applications and active options.
- Preparing for recovery
Set frequency and retention and then check the presence of an exploitable copy.
- Closure of tests
Assign a review date to each clone and option. Prepare any deletion only after validation of the data to be stored.
What TechRadar actually tested
This test was carried out by TechRadar, not by Logicelio. I cite it to provide a perspective based on actual use, without adopting its verdict as my own.
The protocol announced: Test of managed cloud hosting, performance, control panel and support.
The test appreciates fast servers, interface and staging, while noting the lack of email hosting and native domain registration.
