FreshBooks: invoicing and financial tracking for services, with customer-based tiers

Invoicing and financial tracking of benefits with increments by clients. Documentary analysis verified the 27 September 2026.

At a glance

The decisive point for FreshBooks

An accounting report or an international payment button does not demonstrate full support for French declarations and circuits.

What to remember before choosing FreshBooks

Compare FreshBooks using the number of billable clients, the team’s work and the contract currency. Its international page may display a promotion in dollars while its FAQ also publishes a pricing table in euros. Keep track of your offer’s currency and terms through to payment: converting a US price on the fly does not reproduce local pricing. For a French business, compatibility of exports and data exchange with the accounting firm still needs confirmation.

What FreshBooks offers on a daily basis

01
The customer quota

Lite lets you invoice five clients, Plus fifty, and Premium removes this limit. Count clients according to the product's rules, not just those who paid last month. For one-off services with a changing client base, you may quickly outgrow the entry-level plan.

02
Team members and accounting firm

The grid distinguishes the optional team members and the access of the accountant presented from Plus. The budget must reflect who is performing the tasks. Consultation access for the firm and a staff member preparing invoices do not meet the same need.

03
Local price and promotion

The 2026 FAQ lists Lite at 16 € per month or 172,80 € per year, Plus at 30 € per month or 324 € per year, and Premium at 50 € per month or 540 € per year. These are the EUR pricing table amounts, excluding promotions. Check contract availability and taxes when subscribing.

04
Benefits and profitability

The comparison of offers places the cost-effectiveness monitoring of projects in Premium. Before paying for this function, determine how the hours and expenses will be reported. A report does not correct costs that are absent or assigned to the wrong file.

The facts that change the choice

What to know about FreshBooks

  1. 01

For plans in euros affected by the 2026 update, FreshBooks announces Lite to 16 €/month, Plus to 30 € and Premium to 50 €.

  2. 02

The annual subscriptions announced include a discount of 10 %.

  3. 03

The 2026 increase concerns several currencies with different grids, so you have to check the billing currency when you subscribe.

When this option makes sense

Who it is for: service providers who want to connect quotations, expenses and payment tracking.

When to look at another approach: An accounting report or an international payment button does not demonstrate full support for French declarations and circuits.

Example: a consultant with two types of mission

Five regular clients may sustain a business, but a sixth one-off project can change the tier required. Compare the annual cost with the actual number of client relationships, then add team access. A temporary promotion reduces the first payment; it changes neither the client quota nor how the records must be prepared.

Price: what you really need to budget

Limits that may change your mind

FreshBooks limits Lite to five billable clients and Plus to fifty; team access and some options add costs. The international page may show a USD promotion, while the official FAQ also provides EUR pricing. The amount you use must match your contract's currency. Accountant access and reports alone do not demonstrate that the software prepares filings or handles French regulatory submissions.

Preparing your decision

Three checks to see if FreshBooks suits you

Compare the cost of five recurring clients with that of one-time missions for a larger client base.

  1. Count before subscribing

List customers of the year and ask how the product counts archived customers. Use this rule to choose the landing.

  2. Check the contract currency

Compare the payment offer to the published EUR grid. If your account remains in dollars, confirm the possibilities of currency migration through assistance.

  3. Forward an example to the firm

Prepare invoice, expense and fictitious settlement, then check the export formats accepted by your accountant. Control should be on useful data, not just on the PDF.
