What the administration is changing
The WordPress offered by Amen announces the management of updates and test environments. Its interest depends on the technical work you wish to delegate. The publication of content, the verification of customer journeys and the definition of the recovery plan remain decisions to be organised, with the supplier or your provider.

From the site you must maintain
For a small business, the question is not just "Is WordPress installed? ». It is important to know who intervenes when an extension evolves, that a form no longer transmits its messages or that a layout change hinders mobile users. List the functions that support the activity: request for quote, make appointments, purchase, customer access or download.
The Amen’s official managed WordPress page, consulted on 8 October 2026, advertises checks and installation of WordPress, PHP, theme and plugin updates. It presents four packages: Starter géré, Business Géré, Digital Géré and Premium Géré. These statements describe the vendor’s offered scope; they are not an independent compatibility or availability test.
Ask how licensed extensions and custom developments are handled. A publicly available update may still require a renewed licence, and fixing custom code may fall under another contract. Ask the provider to clarify exclusions and who handles these cases. Have this scope included in the commercial proposal.
Use the test copy for proper acceptance testing
Amen’s comparison table lists one test environment for Starter and Business, two for Digital and five for Premium. The ability to prepare a copy does not by itself establish who approves the result. Plan a short set of functional acceptance checks suited to your site, with someone responsible for approval before moving a change into production.
For a business website, choose a page containing the main form and a page representative of your sales presentation. On the copy, check the mobile layout, required fields, confirmation message and delivery of the enquiry to its recipient. Use a dedicated test address to distinguish these messages from real enquiries.
For a store, add product selection, the cart, delivery and payment methods compatible with a test environment. Do not send real payments or customer messages merely to check a copy. Ask how to disable outgoing automations and which test modes to use. We propose this checking process; we do not claim that Amen performs all these business acceptance checks for you.
A copy prepared before a change can become old when the production receives new content or orders. Before publication, please indicate what data will be replaced and what data will remain online. Do not delay an old base over a base that has received new orders without proper procedure.
Backup frequency and recovery time
Amen advertises hourly backups on its page. The table lists twelve hours for Business and Digital and twenty-four hours for Premium; the Starter cell does not provide a usable duration. We therefore infer neither thirty days of retention nor an identical guarantee for every package. Ask for the contractual retention period and the number of restore points available with your plan.
The official WordPress backup documentation distinguishes the files of the site and its database. For your file, check that both are covered and that they match the same consistent state. Keep both: files for media and components, the base for content and settings.
An independent copy may complete the supplier's backups. Decide where it is stored, who can retrieve it and how to periodically check its contents. For a store that records orders, also plan the processing of transactions received after the restored point. Remitting pages online does not mean that transactions in the period are automatically reconstituted.
Choose pack without taking storage for speed measurement
The resources listed in the table help you ask specific questions: current file sizes, database size, the memory required by plugins and the number of mailboxes. Check the size of the existing site before choosing a plan. A large media library can be reduced or better organised without automatically changing hosting.
Avoid promising that a bigger plan will always make a site faster. The theme, images, third-party scripts and plugins may still slow down the user journey. Base your decision on measurements taken on your own site or on a trial with clearly documented conditions.

Prepare migration without moving the entire system at once
The Amen page mentions a free migration with an asterisk. Before integrating it into your budget as a full service, ask for its conditions: number of sites, eligible size, access required, delays and exclusions. We do not say that this mention covers all configurations, messaging or specific developments.
Prepare a site inventory: files, database, PHP version, themes, extensions and external services. Check the access and license rights with the current provider. Gather access to WordPress administration, files and database necessary for migration. Do not share account secrets in a simple shared table open to all.

Temporarily keep what you need to roll back until the public domain, forms and expected services have been checked. Agree the duration with the providers instead of immediately deleting the old hosting account.
Award for delegated work
Compare the managed package’s cost with the hosting and maintenance you already use. Record the tasks covered, renewal terms, extra licences and work outside the contract. A managed service may help if no one in the company monitors updates, but it does not take care of content writing or the quality of the sales catalogue.

When this offer deserves to be compared
For an existing business WordPress site, Amen’s managed service is worth examining if you want a contact responsible for updates and its scope covers your configuration. Before signing, collect the compatibility, backup and migration responses, then assign the validation of the routes to a named person. The choice becomes stronger when you know what to do after a problematic update, who to contact and what data to recover. This organization is more useful than a general site promise always available.
