Indy business account: check fees and limits before moving transactions

Free account maintenance, international payments and changing bank details (RIB) are three separate issues. Assess the transactions your business needs.

Decide before changing account

Free is not enough to choose your main account

The business account Indy can respond to simple flows by card and transfer. However, its relevance depends on your cash flow, international transactions and available ceilings. Compare your actual operations with documented functions before transferring your samples and informing all your customers.

Analysis of official documentation, with no testing on a paid account.

Official Documentation Consulted the 29 September 2026. The cost simulations are fictitious calculations in euros, without monetary conversion. They illustrate a comparison method, not a custom estimate of your future costs.

Separate fee simulations excluding VAT: 10 euros on a card-transaction base of 500 euros, 20 on 1 000 euros and 10 for two incoming SWIFT transfers, excluding currency conversion.
Hypothetical Logicelio calculations using Indy's terms consulted on 29 September 2026: 2 % of 500 € and 1 000 €, then two fees of 5 € excluding VAT. Excludes taxes, foreign exchange costs and any other possible fees; no currency conversion. See examples and their method.

Assess the flows the account must accept

The presentation of the account mentions a French IBAN, cards and transfers, without account fees. It also specifies the absence of cash and cheques. The scope of the opening comprises several legal forms, including IS and current companies, under conditions. Eligibility must be confirmed for your company; access to the software is not an automatic acceptance of the account.

On your last statements, file the money entries by way of payment. If customers pay regularly by cheque, ask where these cheques will be cashed after the change. Keeping a second account can solve this need, but its cost and reconciliation work must then remain in your comparison. The displayed price of an account does not necessarily represent the cost of your entire organization.

Do the same exercise for outgoings: subscription direct debits, card purchases, suppliers paid by bank transfer and significant occasional transactions. Identify infrequent payments that cannot be allowed to fail, such as an equipment purchase or supplier payment. An account suited to small daily expenses may require additional checks for these situations.

Read special transactions next to free offer

The grid of specific operations states that two euro withdrawals are covered each month, followed by 1 € per withdrawal. Foreign-currency payments and withdrawals are advertised at 2 % excluding VAT. An incoming SWIFT transfer costs 5 € excluding VAT, with possible additional foreign exchange fees. Outgoing foreign-currency transfers were not listed as available in Indy when the information was checked.

Do not deduct from these conditions that a purchase on a foreign site is always billed in currency: look at the currency of the actual transaction. Conversely, a subscription presented with a converted price on the screen can debit another currency. Ask the supplier for the amount and currency charged, then check the applicable pricing before choosing your method of payment.

ExampleIsolated calculationResult
Foreign currency payments with a base equivalent to 500 €500 × 2 %10 € excluding VAT
Foreign currency payments with a base equivalent to 1 000 €1 000 × 2 %20 € excluding VAT
Two incoming SWIFT transfers2 × 5 € excluding VAT10 € excluding VAT

These examples isolate the stated fees. They include no currency conversion calculated by Logicelio, intermediary fees, other transactions or VAT that may apply. The amounts in euros are assumptions supplied for the calculation. To compare two solutions, apply each fee schedule to the same set of transactions with the same exclusions; otherwise, the result will be misleading.

A balance available is not a card ceiling available

The ceiling page lists 10 000 € per card over a rolling thirty-day period and 50 000 € for all cards combined, as well as 3 000 € in withdrawals over a rolling thirty-day period. It also states a maximum of 100 000 € per instant transfer. Check the limits applied to your account before making a major transaction.

The word “rolling” changes the check you need to make: the start of a calendar month does not mean all recent history has disappeared from the calculation. Before an unusually large purchase, examine payments already counted in the relevant period and the limit set for the card being used. Available funds in the account and sufficient card authorisation are two separate conditions.

The amendment procedure describes a setting on the web or in the application, with strong authentication. Avoid waiting in front of a supplier to check for access. If you have more than one card, identify the card that will be used and have the option confirmed for a need above the stated limit. This guide does not guarantee any exceptional authorization.

Changing RIB is a small operational project

Indy indicates in its main account change procedure that it did not offer a dedicated bank-switching service at the time of the review. It advises reviewing mandates, notifying creditors and customers, updating saved cards and retaining statements. This work therefore needs to be organised; do not assume that every organisation will automatically receive the new bank details (RIB).

Build a list per contact with the current payment method, the action to be taken and the next deadline. Distinguish a draw on IBAN from a recurring card payment: update one does not update the other. For specific professional mandates, follow the dedicated procedure rather than limit yourself to sending an RIB by email.

Then plan an overlap period suited to your deadlines. Check the first incoming and outgoing transactions on the new account while monitoring those still using the old one. An occasional customer may use bank details (RIB) saved long ago. Closing the old account too early can make the transition harder, even if all your monthly subscriptions appear to have moved.

Three profiles, three possible decisions

A provider paid by transfers in euros: Most importantly, he checks the receipt of payments, the levies and the reconciliation with his invoices. Integration into accounting can simplify its organization, but this profit must be seen on its own path.

An activity regularly receiving cheques or cash: the lack of support for receiving these payment methods within the documented scope must be addressed before switching. A complementary solution may still be needed. The relevant criterion then becomes how all the accounts work together, rather than Indy’s price alone.

An independent who often works internationally: it lists separately foreign currency cards, incoming transfers and payments to foreign suppliers. The cost and availability of transfers may weigh more than free account keeping. The comparative Qonto and Indy allows the scope analysis to be expanded without claiming that these tools are interchangeable.

Decide with a checked flow list

Choose the account if it supports the incoming payments you need, you understand any specific fees and you can arrange the transition. Postpone the decision if an important payment method remains unsupported. A partner offer must not become the main reason for changing accounts; also check which product it applies to.

Our affiliate link concerns an Indy Autonomie offer for new customers, rather than a bonus for opening a business account. The subscription guide separate these subjects. For daily monitoring, see method of diagnosing missing transactions and full Indy review. Finally, keep your statements before closing an old bank space.
