Indy, Tiime or Qonto: how do they differ for managing your business?

Indy, Tiime and Qonto cover different stages of accounting, billing and payments. Compare their entire journey and the approved platform used.

First compare your accounting work, then the account and invoice.

Indy, Tiime and Qonto cover overlapping pieces but do not start from the same use. Indy highlights the independent's accounting and reporting; Tiime combines billing, accounting preparation and collaboration with the firm; Qonto shares the professional account and payment flows, plus billing tools. A small businesses can keep its bank and choose a separate accounting software. The right choice depends mainly on who makes the returns and how the invoices join the bank and the accountant.

Analysis of official documentation, with no testing on a paid account.

  4. Price: compare perimeters before numbers
  5. Questions to ask your accountant and the vendors

Comparison updated the 27 September 2026. The levels and prices quoted come from the public grids consulted today. One price per month with annual billing implies an annual commitment or payment: it must not be read as the price of a single month.

Three daily routes rather than a single ranking

Your situationFirst tool to considerPoint that can reverse the choice
Independent who wants to prepare or complete part of his statements in the same tool as his accounting.IndyYour plan, the statements supported and the actual intervention of your accountant.
Entrepreneur or company that regularly shares supporting documents and data with its accounting firm.TiimeThe work method of the firm, the necessary plan and the connection to the approved platform.
Team that primarily manages payments, cards, access and reconciliation of the professional account.QontoBank charges and the need for an accounting tool or supplementary reporting.

These starting points are not functional exclusives. Indy also announces a free professional account, Tiime an account offer and Qonto billing features. What distinguishes purchase is the level of service included in your plan and the number of software your team needs to maintain. Check it grid Indy, rates Tiime and grid Qonto for your legal status before comparing.

A typical sale exposes differences

Imagine a €1,200 service invoiced in two stages, with a deposit, a balance and an expense reimbursement. The quote is accepted, the first invoice sent, a payment received and a purchase document passed to the accountant. Reproduce this workflow with each candidate: where are documents created, who can see the payment, who corrects an error, where are supporting documents stored and how does the accounting firm retrieve the entries?

With Indy, focus on recording income and expenses, reconciliation and the returns required for your legal status. With Tiime, ask the accounting firm whether it already uses the workspace and whether it expects you to enter data or simply upload supporting documents. With Qonto, test access to transactions, team member roles, payment preparation and the accounting export. An invoice created in one tool and paid through another must retain a common reference.

Do not mix electronic invoicing and accounting features

Since the 1er September 2026, the French companies concerned must be able to receive electronic invoices. The issue becomes mandatory according to the size of the company: large companies and ETI since September 2026, SMEs and micro-enterprises in September 2027. An approved platform (PA) intervenes in regulatory transmission and reception; compatible software can be the daily interface through a PA. The DGFiP publishes two lists : operators having passed the required tests and candidates whose final registration awaits these tests. Commercial pages can evolve faster than your contracts: check the exact name and status of your PA.

Ask each of the three providers: “Which PA receives my invoices today? Who designates it for my company? On which screen can I see a supplier invoice and a rejection? Will my customer invoices, credit notes and e-reporting data follow the same route?” If your accounting firm has already chosen a system, have the connection approved before changing tools. The Logicelio PA guide and compatible solution details this control. A promise "ready for 2027" does not alone regulate the receipt already required in 2026.

Price: compare perimeters before numbers

For a micro-entrepreneur, Indy lists the free Essentiel offer and a Plus plan from 9 € excluding VAT per month with annual billing on the consulted grid. Tiime lists Free at no charge, with registration on the Tiime PA required for electronic invoicing features; Initial at 9.99 € excluding VAT per month, billed at 119.88 € excluding VAT per year, with a mandatory Tiime business account; then Smart at 17.99 € excluding VAT per month, billed at 215.88 € excluding VAT per year for a micro-enterprise, on its reverified tariff page 7 October 2026. Qonto displays in particular Basic from 9 € excluding VAT per month with annual payment on the French grid. These three amounts do not cover the same services: compare the price of full course, including the account, accounting firm, returns, cards, bank transfers and users.

A company with two directors and an accounting firm has different plan needs from a solo micro-entrepreneur. Write down the annual cost actually paid, seats and cards, transaction limits, required filings and electronic invoicing. Add the cost of leaving your current bank and any accounting software you may continue using. Do not interpret a free plan as covering all your business's accounting obligations.

Questions to ask your accountant and the vendors

  1. Who makes the statements? The software, the firm or you? List your plan's returns, not just "VAT and balance sheet".
  2. What is the point of entry for purchases? Test receiving a supplier invoice, attaching its supporting document and allocating it to the correct period.
  3. What payment tracking is shared? Check down payment, partial payment, refund and invoice cancelled, including double imports.
  4. What rights are granted? An employee who prepares an invoice does not necessarily have access to all transactions in the account.
  5. What do you get when you leave? Export invoices, supporting documents, transactions and history before a trial ends.

If the firm already imposes its flow, leave this real constraint and do not buy a second promise of "all-in-one accounting". If the issue is the declaration of an independent, consider Indy first; if it is the accounting collaboration, Tiime; if it is payments and bank fees, Qonto. These are test tracks, not a regulatory or banking validation of the particular file.
